Attention high school economics teachers! In July 2009, the State Board of Education approved a one semester Economics course graduation requirement for seniors in 2014. Frameworks for the course are divided into the following strands: Economic Fundamentals, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Personal Finance Management.
This two-day workshop will present information and materials focused on the Economic Fundamentals strand. Participants will receive training, materials and lesson plans to effectively teach the Economic Fundamentals Content Standards. Later one-day sessions will be provided for the Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Personal Finance Management strands of the frameworks.
Participants are required to attend both days in order to receive professional development credit for the workshop. Partial attendance is not an option.
