Hutchinsons, Waltons to Host "Bacon + Eggonomics" Event Supporting Economic Education in Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK – Economics Arkansas is excited to announce its upcoming fundraising event, Bacon + Eggonomics, set to take place on May 23, 2024, at The Apollo on Emma in Springdale, Arkansas, from 8:00-9:30 a.m.

Bacon + Eggonomics promises to be a unique event combining a delicious breakfast with insightful discussions on current economic happenings. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a hearty breakfast while hearing from an esteemed speaker in the fields of finance and economics.

The event’s keynote speaker will be Andrew Stuttaford, editor of National Review Capitol Matters, who will provide valuable insights into the latest economic trends and developments. Stuttaford will participate in a fireside chat with Dr. Brent Williams, dean of the University of Arkansas’ Sam M. Walton College of Business, delving deeper into economic topics relevant to Arkansas and beyond.

In addition to these distinguished speakers, Bacon + Eggonomics will feature a short presentation from local Springdale students, highlighting the importance of economic education in today’s world.

Former Governor and First Lady Asa and Susan Hutchinson and Jim and Lynne Walton will graciously serve as event hosts, demonstrating their commitment to supporting economic education initiatives in Arkansas.

“We are thrilled to host Bacon + Eggonomics and bring together individuals passionate about economic education,” said Kathleen Lawson, executive director at Economics Arkansas. “This event provides a unique opportunity to partner with the National Review Institute and support our mission of promoting economic literacy in Arkansas.”

Economics Arkansas is a private, nonprofit, non-partisan educational organization founded in 1962 by Dr. Arch Ford and led by Dr. Bessie B. Moore to promote economic literacy in Arkansas. Its mission is to equip PreK-12 schools with standards-based resources and professional development to teach economics, personal finance, and the free-enterprise system using practical, innovative, and inspiring methods so that Arkansas students may master an understanding of economics and personal finance and apply that knowledge for success in the free-enterprise system.
